Canal Boating in Skipton

One of the best value canal boat day’s out is Pennine Cruisers of Skipton.   We hired one of their larger boats in February, and as it was their winter rate, it cost us just £85 for up to 10 people.
The children loved helping to open and close the many swing bridges along the route, and […]

Steve Collins and Nigel Benn Boxing

If you are interested in finding out about the fight records of Steve Collins and Nigel Benn, meeting them in person, having your photo taken with them or asking them questions, then you should consider buying a ticket for one of their sportsmen’s dinners.
For about £60 per person you also receive a 3 course meal […]

Orson Concert Tickets

If you are a fan of Orson Bright Ideas or Culture Vultures albums, and would like Orson concert tickets, why not consider seeing them in a small venue during their UK tour.
I saw them at Leeds Met last night where the audience must have been less than 400.  Even though I was over half an […]

Review: Claridges of London

Yes, I have been to Claridges and here is a video to prove it. It was all wonderful: from arriving and being treated to free drinks because they’d messed up our reservation to staying in a suite of 3 plush rooms. The staff were too fawning for my liking, for example leading you to the toilets […]

Scarecrow Competition, Eastrington East Yorkshire

No, this is not a photo of James.  Its one of the entries we saw in a scarecrow competition in Eastrington, East Yorkshire.  The idea was to find the scarecrows and make a phrase out of the letters you found the scarecrows holding up.
Here are the letters:   H D F  E D T  E  E O […]

sauna, steamer, plunge pool, […]

Suprised at the Suprise Party

I was recently invited to a surprise birthday party for a girl at work called Lyn. James wasn’t keen because he didn’t know anyone and because he would be missing a football match, but I dragged him along anyway and we arrived soon after it was due to start, about 8:30.
It was quite busy, and […]

Boston Park Farm Maize Maze

In the summer holidays we visited Boston Park Farm Maize Maze in Hatfield Woodhouse, Doncaster, and all had an ‘amazing’ time. Annie enjoyed playing in the sandpit while Tom loved climbing the straw pyramid and feeding (each bag cost 20p) Paddy the Shetland pony, the pigs, goats and calves.

There was a hatching shed where we saw tiny day-old […]
