Boston Park Farm Maize Maze

Boston Park Farm animalsIn the summer holidays we visited Boston Park Farm Maize Maze in Hatfield Woodhouse, Doncaster, and all had an ‘amazing’ time. Annie enjoyed playing in the sandpit while Tom loved climbing the straw pyramid and feeding (each bag cost 20p) Paddy the Shetland pony, the pigs, goats and calves.

There was a hatching shed where we saw tiny day-old chicks and could suggest names, plus a mini roped maze which of course I was the first to do in our family. There was also a stall selling day-out necessities such as tea and home-made cakes. I noticed the farm related gifts were good value too, like 75p for an animal mask.

The highlight – naturally – was the large maze. The idea was to find 5 objects, 4 of which were under flags so fairly easy to find. The fifth really challenged us as it was pushed out of view in the maize itself. We probably walked past it half a dozen times before we spotted it! Anyway, for finding all 5 we were all rewarded with a lolly (me too, of course) and entered into a prize draw.

Sorry we didn’t take many photos but my camera ran out of battery. Anyway we plan to go back in October during Shriek Week which I presume is Halloween related. Maybe we’ll see you there…

What mazes have you visited and how do they compare?
